The FCC
The Federal Communications Commission is an independent Government agency that is in charge of regulation TV, radio and telephone in the United States. Similar to the MPAA, but instead of choosing what is played on the big screen, they regulate your radio
and TV. Unlike the MPAA which has a uniform guideline lettering system, the FCC operates differently, the rules of the FCC vary depending on the type of broadcast. There are a lot of controversial issues where the FCC has stepped
in and fined organizations. The FCC also lets viewers file complaints if they do not like what they saw on TV.
After Superbowl 54, the FCC received over 1,300 complaints after the J.lo and Shakira halftime performance. Viewers felt the singers were not dressed appropriately and doing sexual dances that children may see.
